Day 1 Arrival in Seoul

Private transport to Seoul and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 Seoul Sight Seeing

Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world, with restricted access.
Explore an infiltration tunnel, observation points, and museums dedicated to this complex period.

Gyeongbokgung Palace, providing an excellent chance to discover Seoul’s history through interactions with the Royal Palace guards.

The Seoul Wall Walk takes you through the charming alleys and murals of Ihwa Mural Village with a visit to the iconic modern architecture of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), offering a unique blend of tradition and contemporary Seoul.

Explore the Gwangjang Market, one of the Seoul’s oldest traditional markets bursting with high energy—street food sizzling, K-beauty shops glowing late into the night, music spilling from cafés and clubs.

Day 3 Seoul to Andong – 245 kms

Rev up your engines for a beautiful drive from Seoul to Sokcho. Leaving behind the megacity, drive along the Han river and a majestic view of the Taebaek Mountains. The road winds through forested slopes and long tunnels and
brings us to the edges of Seoraksan National Park – a UNESCO designated site as a Biosphere Reserve, celebrated for its striking rock formations, abundant wildlife, dense forests and hot springs while enjoying the panoramic views of the valley.

Spend time at leisure visiting the Naksansa Temple with over 1300 years of history dating back to the Silla Kingdom.

Day 4 Sokcho to Andong – 330 kms

The drive to Andong winds down from the tall peaks of Taebaek Mountains to the country sidedotted with palm trees and quaint fishing villages. Particularly Hahoe, the
“village surrounded by water”, a preserved gem in South
Korea! This picturesque village offers a journey through
time with its traditional houses, cobblestone streets, and
breathtaking landscapes.

Spend the evening immersed in the quiet charm of Maenggae Village, where tradition and creativity meet. Visit a distinctive Korean brewery that reimagines age-old fermentation methods followed by a private dinner prepared with regional ingredients and time-honored techniques!

Day 5 Andong to Gyeongju – 200 kms

Leaving behind the county side adorned with paddy and pepper fields the route along the Nakdong River
smooths out as we reach Gyeongju. The drive ends
amid reminders of the Silla Kingdom everywhere you
turn—temples, stone lanterns and pagodas.
As we explore the famous Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO
World Heritage site and Seokguram Caves, spend the
evening enjoying a lovely musical experience at a
traditional Hanok House.

Day 6 Gyeongju to Busan – 190 kms

We hit the road to Busan, a busy port metropolis on the southeastern coast known for its stunning
beaches. It blends urban excitement with natural beauty, offering a unique mix of industrial port activity and laid-back coastal charm. Spend the rest of the day exploring this vibrant city – Haedong Yonggungsa temple and Gukje & Jagalchi markets.

Day 7 Busan to Beopjusa – 180 kms

Along the way to Beopjusa, step into another century at Yangdong Village, South Korea’s largest and
best-preserved traditional clan village. Discover the spiritual rhythm of traditional Korea at Beopjusa Temple, set deep within the quiet mountains of Songnisan National Park. Experience a unique Temple Stay where you wake up to the temple bells and chanting echoing through ancient trees and walk paths shaped by centuries of reflection, where tradition, nature, and mindfulness unite as one
immersive experience.

Day 8 Beopjusa to Seoul – 420 kms

Embark on the return journey to Seoul filled with rustic and cultural experiences and endless memories that tell a story to remember.

Day 9 Depart from Seoul

Transfer to the airport for your
return flight from Seoul.

Do all of your road trips have tour leaders?

All guided tours have a tour leader and support crew.

Who are the tour leaders and how experienced are they?

Embarq guided tours are led by our co-founders themselves. They have more than five years of experience in organising road trips and have scouted the routes beforehand.

Do we have to follow the tour leaders on a guided tour?

Yes. To get the best experience on our guided tours, we expect you to follow the group leader/lead vehicle.
